    "Time to get a new television

It was finally time to retire our small, old and clunky television perched on my counter in my kitchen when one of the buttons in the front imploded, leaving an unsightly space directly in the front. We had wanted to replace it with one of the small new flat screen televisions so popular now anyway, and this provided us with the perfect excuse to go television shopping.

Great price

The 15 inch Sharp Aquos LC-15B1U was on sale at Brands Mart the weekend we went shopping for an amazing weekend special of $299.00 . We had looked at a similar model about a year ago for almost double the price. Needless to say we were thrilled. We were so amazed at this really low price, that we bought two, one for my kitchen counter and one for a small desk area in our computer/office.

The television

The liquid crystal Aquos picture is incredibly bright, clear and realistic. Even from a slightly angled position, as when I am at my sink in the kitchen, the picture is clear and distortion-free. Even from my kitchen table , which is about ten or more feet from the television, the picture is brilliant and easy to see, which I find remarkable for such a small television.

Its design is extremely modern and sharp-looking. Its silver colored finish goes with any decor. The total depth of the television is less than eight inches, including the attractive stand. With a height of 15 inches and a total width of just under 20 inches, this design is perfect for any small space where a regular-depth television would not fit. This includes the two speakers, one on either side of the screen. The sound quality of the speakers is crisp and clear. The swivel nature of the stand makes it even more versatile and greatly expands its viewing field. To change the vertical angle of the television, just tilt the screen up to 5 degrees forward or 10 degrees backward. The television can also be rotated on its stand 25 degrees to the right or the left.

With a total weight of under twelve pounds, this television would be perfect for someone who needed to move the television frequently.

The set allows for v-chip settings, for controlling the viewing of certain stations, has a sleep/timer and ,of course, a remote. After initially setting up the adjustments with its remote, we don’t use it, since we have satellite television and use that master remote instead.

The controls are at the top of the television, where they are very inobtrusive , which helps give the television its sleek and clean look.
